Nigeria’s energy sector is undergoing constant transformation but they continue
to reel under acute power shortage. The country generates less than 4,000 megawatts (MW) annually. Only 18% of rural Nigeria has access to electricity
and only about 50% of the country has access to electricity. Enhancing power generation is a matter of concern and focus for the Government of Nigeria, as therein lies the key to the country’s economic growth.
Nigeria was the first country outside of India, where Su-Kam set up operations, leading the way for the power back up industry in India to go global. Nigeria continues to be a significant market for us and we regularly participate in exhibitions and other events. Another first to our credit in this market is the Corporate Affairs Commission Project of the Government of Nigeria.
In 2013, Su-Kam was conferred with the ‘Most Reliable Inverter Brand of Africa’ award by the Institute of Brand Management, Nigeria.
